We got married!
The first big news, we eloped! We let our families know that we were planning on eloping and in true elopement fashion, made a decision when the timing felt right. 12/28/2018 was that time and we are beyond excited to start the next chapter of our lives together.
We bought a house!
The next big news, we are moving to Florida! We recently bought a cute little historic Spanish Mediterranean house in West Palm Beach, Florida. It’s a new location for Adam and a welcome back to friends for Jonathan who lived in southern Florida for the better part of a decade already. We were purposeful in our house search to not buy “too much house” for our first place, especially knowing that we have some big dreams coming up.
We need your help!
Third, we are asking for your help. Even before we decided to elope we knew that we wanted to pursue surrogacy to start our family. One of the reasons we chose to elope was to help save on the expense of a wedding in order to be that much closer to be able to start a family. We were never ones to follow traditions and that won’t stop here. We don’t need new dishes, or kitchen appliances (as much as Adam would LOVE a few new kitchen gadgets), or any of the other “traditional” wedding gifts… We need the funds to help start our family.
A bit more about surrogacy
The surrogacy process includes egg donation, finding a surrogate, genetic testing, IVF, implantation, medical bills and lots of lawyers. Total costs average between $100,000 - $160,000 or more per ATTEMPT! With surrogacy we are paying for a process, not a guarantee and almost all of the costs listed above are completely variable, are not covered by insurance, and need to come from us.
Every little bit is going to help us realize our dream of being dads.
Finally, let us say thank you. We are incredibly humbled and honored by the support we have and will receive. We know we are just starting to prepare for this process and we have a long road ahead of us to become parents.
