Hello Family and Friends!
This is Fidel Acevedo inviting you to join me in celebrating my birthday. As you are all well aware the COVID-19 pandemic made 2020 a very rough year for many of us. And because of this pandemic we have been dealing with many safety mandates to slow the spread of this virus. So our LULAC Council was not able to organize any in-person fundraisers.
With so much going on, on top of restrictions, we (LULAC Councils 4858 - 4860 - 4227) made the decision to cancel our scholarship golf tournament fundraiser held in Austin every year. This one fundraiser brings in the bulk of the funds to support our educational program.
Sunday, November 8, 2020 I will celebrate another year of life. Out of consideration for the health of family and friends this year I will not be able to celebrate my birthday as I would like. Hence, I am asking family and friends to join me in celebrating my birthday by donating to this one program, near and dear to my heart.
Our Scholarship program offers $500 scholarship awards for graduating seniors - headed to college. This year, we were hoping to increase the number of students awarded, but that goal will have to wait until next year. This year our goal is to award at minimum two scholarships.
Great News! ***Council #4227 has agreed to to match funds for the first $1000 raised.***
