PLEASE SUPPORT OUR INCARCERATED LOVED ONES ORGANIZING A CULTURAL EVENT AT WASHINGTON CORRECTIONS CENTER FOR WOMEN

The ask directly from our family inside:

"Hi everyone, I'm reaching out into the community in order to seek help for our yearly cultural Hispanic event. We honor our heritage and share space with our population behind bars by dancing, singing and showcasing art. we make do with what little resources we do get. We extend those blessing to everyone present. This event is special to our people within the prison because it's the one day we get to represent our countries and celebrate it with minimal barriers.

We invite you to have an opportunity to be a sponsor to our event, we only receive enough funds to either choose ethnic food or decorations and gifts. As you all know inflation is affecting everyone and in order for us to make every event we depend on donations every year. Our families are our main support and yearly we ask them.

So we are extending our ask to all the outside allies we can reach. When we receive funds people on our committee collectively buy the things online with our liaison. We feed, entertain and provide goodie bags full of ethnic snacks and candies, hygiene, hair products and such.

We are all inclusive keeping to our theme of Latinos Unidos! but most of all Everyone United! We create space for all religions, creeds, genders and identities. We hope we can network with many and hopefully find a liaison for next year too. We all Thank You !!"
