Support Our Front Line Health Care Heroes
Donation protected
Southeast Michigan has been hit very hard during this COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic. As a result, many of our health care workers are sick, and others are working very long hours with few breaks for meals and snacks. In addition, most food service options for medical staff are closed or have very limited options in the cafeteria. The aim of this fundraiser is to provide healthy, nutrient dense prepackaged snacks, catered onsite meals, and take home meals for healthcare workers at Michigan Medicine.
You may also donate prepackaged snack items. Information for donating snack items below. Other ways to participate in showing our support for our Health Care Heroes below. Information for donating to other Southeast Michigan staff also below.
Funds will be managed by Executive Committee Members of Washtenaw Optimal Wellness, a Michigan Domestic Nonprofit Corporation (ID# 802397936) https://washtenawoptimalwellness.org/
Current Medical Worker Stats 04/08/20: Michigan Medicine reports 110 health care workers and over 600 additional staff are COVID-19 positive. Trinity Health / St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Systems reports that over 200 staff members are COVID-19 positive. Beaumont Health has about 1,500 staff members staying home because they have symptoms consistent with COVID-19. Henry Ford Health System said about over 700 staff members have tested positive for COVID-19.
