<div>On May 31st, our neighbor's fence spontaneously caught fire and it traveled to our house, causing a huge amount of damage and lost possessions. We have been displaced from our home ever since. Several months later, on December 24th, two of our pipes burst and flooded two rooms and the basement. Insurance did not cover the flood and does not cover all of the lost possessions from the fire damage.

<div>We were then told at the end of summer that our house would be rebuilt by October 15th. Although the progress was moving slow despite this promise, we trusted it would get done and ended our rental lease and moved into our house. It was nowhere near fully finished, but the contractors said they could finish everything else in a few weeks with us still living there. After living there a few days, we quickly realized it was a huge safety hazard with construction dust, no doors, loose nails and construction materials everywhere. We told our contractors we needed to move out of the unsafe situation, and from that point, had to live in 5 different places over the course of 10 days while we were bounced around until the restoration company secured us a one-month Airbnb stay.

<div>With the amount of times we've had to move in the last month, coupled with the amount of times Nate has had to go back and forth to our house to deal with the restoration company, he has not been able to work for a month. We are thankful for the flexibility of his boss, but he does not have PTO, so this has been a huge financial strain on our family.

<div>Although we had received help to aid in costs for the flood damage and the fire after it first happened, as we are further along in the insurance claims process, we now know that we are not getting as much coverage as we had thought.

<div>We are still in the process of replacing ALL of our baby items (none could be salvaged), all of our food/household products, all of our pet products, and a large amount of clothes and housewares. The costs of this have added up to more than we have expected and we had to put these costs on a credit card in order to get the things we needed. We used the money from our first GoFundMe to pay Quick Response for the flood damage and did not fundraise when we first had the fire, but were thankful to receive gift cards for food and groceries while we were living in a hotel. Several people also donated financially after the fire and we are thankful that we were able to use those funds to replace all of our immediate needs such as toothbrushes, soap, shampoo, body/hygiene products, baby clothes, diapers/wipes, dog food/bowls/beds/crates.

<div>We have realized we need a lot more help than we originally let on and expected and are thankful for any assistance our community can provide.

<div>We are still in the midst of a very tragic season of loss and difficulty and appreciate all prayers during this time as well.
