Hi everyone, 
 
This is something I never expected that I would be doing. 
 
I’ve recently been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer which has spread to my liver and abdominal tissue. This cancer is unfortunately inoperable nor curable. 
 
What started as discomfort and pains with GP visits suspecting an infection soon became hospital appointments, blood tests and numerous scans. This nightmare has very quickly become a reality of treatment plans, uncertainty and trying to stay strong for the people I love. 
 
As of today, 13th March, we have been told that the cancer is not curable. With the chemotherapy treatment that has been planned for me, I still only have a life expectancy of 6 - 12 months. This has been the hardest thing to hear as we now know there will be no future for us as a family. 
 
I am/was a self-employed painter and decorator which unfortunately means that if I’m unable to work I am not earning and unable to provide for my family. As treatment looks ahead I will have to give up my business at the very moment my family depends on me most. 
 
My wife and I have a beautiful 16 month old daughter, Hazel, who is the absolute centre of our world. Right now my focus needs to be on getting through treatment and being here with my wife and daughter as much as I can, but the financial pressure of covering our mortgage, bills, and everyday living costs is weighing heavily on us. 
 
We and our families are doing everything we can, but we need help.
