Hello friends and neighbors... it's been a rough couple of days and we really could use your help.
My 80+ year old neighbor and close friend's house caught fire on Tuesday, Oct 14th at around 7 pm here in Huntersville, NC. Thanks to the dedication of our local Fire Department heroes, he and his beloved dog, Daisy, are safe. Red Cross jumped into action right away because of his limited income. He only receives Social Security. He supplements that by doing odd jobs for our neighbors and his friends/clients... things like taking their garbage cans in and out on garbage days, getting Miss Hazel's mail every day faithfully, and doing yard work (he actually cuts my yard and has for years). That's how we met. He's lived alone here for quite some time, just he and Daisy, and has done his best to keep making it through. Anything you can spare would make a world of difference. We are reaching out to several organizations to see how else we can fundraise, as well. Our goal would be to get enough money for a small camper or something of the sort. This house was a rental that he lived in for YEARS, and the path forward right now is very unsure. I appreciate you taking the time to read this and I appreciate all the help, love, and support. May God continue to bless us all.
