<div>Anyone who knows our dad knows what an incredible man he is. He is steady, kind, and deeply devoted to his family. He has always been the one who shows up, quietly helping, fixing what’s broken, supporting without needing recognition. He is a loving husband, an amazing father, and a proud grandfather who lights up when he’s with his family.

<div>He also has a special place in the hearts of so many children in our community. He drives a school bus, and he truly loves his “bus kids.” Just before this all happened, he was excited to talk with them about their Christmas break, asking questions and listening to their stories like only he can. Those kids adore him. They recognize him everywhere, at the store and out in the community, and they always run up to say hi and give him a big hug. To them, he’s more than a bus driver. He’s a safe place, a smile in the morning, and someone who genuinely cares.

<div>Right now, he is critically ill and fighting for his life in the ICU. He is on life support, including a ventilator and continuous dialysis, as his body battles a severe infection that has spread to his heart, brain, and spine. His condition remains fragile and unpredictable. Open heart surgery may be needed in the future, but it is currently on hold while doctors work to stabilize him. If he makes it through this, he will face a very long road of recovery with months of hospitalization and rehabilitation ahead.

<div>Throughout their lives, even during significant medical hardships with our brother, McKay, our parents have never asked for help. They have carried heavy burdens quietly, with strength, humility, and grace. This time is different.

<div>This crisis will leave him and our mom facing an enormous and ongoing financial burden. Between prolonged ICU care, dialysis, potential surgery, rehabilitation, and long term medical needs, the costs will be significant. Our hope is to help ease that burden so they can focus on healing and facing the months ahead.
