Hi! For those who know me, I have been helping a family of 6 here on refugee status from Ukraine. There home is now Russian occupied and has even been used by the Russian soldiers. The father is working three jobs to make ends meet for his wife and four children. The resilience of the family is inspirational. The have learned to speak English, adapted to the new environment which is very different than their rural community they called home. I can't image leaving my country with a suitcase of belongings to keep my children safe. The oldest girl is a sophomore in high school. One of my initiated efforts has been to get her dental and orthodontic care. Last year I asked her what she wanted for Christmas and she said, "help her fix her teeth". She has had major dental work done which was covered by St. Vincent de Paul Dental Clinic. However, she needs orthodontic care which is not covered. I partnered with Dr. Owtad at Owtad Orthodontics to provide complete Orthodontic care. He has agreed to discount his fee significantly, however the family is struggling to make payments.
