We at OhMammy produce goods created through utilizing traditional Japanese fermentation processes. Our products help customers improve their gut environment, their immunity, and their overall health. Our menu consists of a plethora of items but our specialties lie within our fermented (hakkō) curry and OhMiki probiotic drink (for more information on our products please visit our website, linked below!).
We opened the doors of OhMammy Curry Factory in late October last year in hopes to provide people with nutritious, gut-healthy, and wholesome foods. Having a store of my own has always been a dream of mine since I immigrated here almost 28 years ago. Combining my love for my homes in Japan and the US, I use my platform to share recipes and traditions to bring Japanese culture and American Culture closer together.
As our business was slowly gaining momentum we, along with other small businesses, were hit hard by the COVID-19 epidemic. Although considered essential, the number of customers that order has decreased heavily impacting our ability to pay for rent, utilities, and other expenses. Currently, we are struggling to keep our doors open and we are in need of help.
Asking for help is not a decision I came lightly to. I reflected on whether asking for donations was in line with our mission and values at OhMammy and grappled with the idea that we are not the only ones in need right now. In receiving help, how can we also help others? That was the question that kept popping into my head.
I have dreamed of teaching and connecting the benefits of fermentation here in America. Fermented foods are believed to help boost immunity and especially at a time like this, I feel motivated to share these foods. For every $30 donated through GoFundMe, OhMammy would like to donate one meal but any donation of any amount is greatly appreciated. Donations will go to people in need and medical responders. This includes families who lost their jobs, first responders sacrificing their safety to protect others, nurses, doctors, supermarket workers, janitors, bus drivers, and other essential workers. We would like to use this platform to thank everybody for working at this time. Thank you for continually keeping our homes safe, working to keep us healthy and alive, and keeping our homes running. Your sacrifices are not overlooked and we have nothing but gratitude for you all.
Your donation will help us meet our expenses for the next two months— including our rent, bills, and other costs associated with staying open. We are lifted and encouraged by the kind words of customers, supportive friends, and families that support us during this time.
We are praying for as many people to continue smiling, laughing, and eating yummy foods.

日本の発酵の文化は素晴らしく、長寿の国でもあります。日本の岩手県では特に発酵食品が盛んです。そのせいかコロナの患者が極端に少なく死者も０です。

curry factoryとして店ををオープン致しました。

それと、oh mikiは優れた発酵乳さんドリンクです。毎日の整腸作用にとても役立ちます。（詳細はウエブにて）
少しづつお客様も増えていたこの時期に コロナの影響でとても窮地に立たされています。
でも、今こそ是非皆様に発酵を知って頂きたい思いでいっぱいです。
実は大幅な工事の遅れでスタート地点でかなりのマイナスのオープンでした。その上このような事態で八方ふさがりな気持ちにもなりました。
が、まだまだアイデアとレシピはたくさんあって、これから必ず皆様に健康の実感をしていただけると同時に腸内環境が整うと精神も安定することを体感していただけると思うのです。
そのために、今まで学んでここアメリカで発酵の文化をつなげていきたいと夢を抱いてきたのです。
また、心から応援してくれている友人の大きなサポートと大きな励ましがあり、今回のお願いにつながっています。
私はただ寄付を募るのではなく何かをつなげていける仕組みがいいと思っています。
私のところにドネーションくださると今の時期に辛い思いをしている人たちのサポートの食事を提供できるシステムを作りたいと思っています。
