The Goodart Family suffered the unthinkable loss of their loving son and brother, Joshua (Josh). After being diagnosed with Covid-19 in the beginning of January, Josh's symptoms worsened and was admitted to Bridgeport Hospital. After receiving the Covid-19 treatments, he continued to decompensate requiring the transfer to the Intensive Care Unit where he was eventually placed on a Ventilator. Josh continued to fight against the virus with the only means of his iPhone to provide familial support. His family then received a call in the middle of the night that his symptoms worsened and he was going to be transferred to Yale New Haven Hospital to be placed on an ECMO machine and other adjunct therapies. After weeks of treatment, his symptoms still were not improving and dialysis was then needed for his kidney failure.
On the evening of February 6, 2021 his parents received a call that no parent ever wants to receive. They were told that their beautiful son would not make it through the night and should come to the hospital immediately. Josh unfortunately did pass away that night from the horrible complications of Covid-19.
Josh was a 2017 Graduate of Oxford High School. He was currently working hard towards his Cyber Security Degree at The University of New Haven. He just started his last semester and planned to complete his capstone project and graduate this year with a bright future ahead of him.
For those who knew Josh, he was a sweet and kind friend to all. It is so devastating to his family and friends to have lost such a dear boy at the young age of 22 years. It really is every parent's worst nightmare. Now his younger Brother, heart broken Mother and Father's lives are changed FOREVER.
The Goodart Family has always showed their kindness and generosity to everyone but especially to their entire neighborhood family and community despite having medical issues of their own.
We are just so shocked and saddened by Josh's passing. We would like to lessen this families' stresses at this sad time by helping them financially. All donations will help them with Josh's medical, educational and funeral/memorial expenses or anything that this loving family may need.
