<div>Hello love, my name is Nusaibah. I’m reaching out with humility and strength to share my invisible journey.

</div>

<div>I live with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS)—a genetic connective tissue disorder that affects my joints, muscles, and daily mobility.

</div>

<div>EDS affects my body in ways that are often invisible—chronic pain, joint instability (dislocations, subluxations), and extreme fatigue—these are all part of my everyday experiences, this is my reality. Tasks that many take for granted—walking, cooking, getting dressed, getting out of bed, even sitting/standing for long periods—can be extremely difficult and painful for me.

<div>In addition, or perhaps the most disabling part of my reality is: managing the challenges of an inexcusable amounts of trauma that has deeply shaped my nervous system, leaving me with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). <span>I’ve worked hard through therapy and spiritual grounding to try and stay afloat. Still, I experience severe flashbacks, emotional shutdowns, dissociation —episodes where my body and mind are no longer in the present moment — these episodes come suddenly and leave me unable to function for hours or days. PTSD symptoms are not something I can “push through” they aren’t simply “difficult days” they are long-term realities that I must face day in and day out.</span>
</div>

<div>Because of this, I am currently unable to work. Being in environments that are loud, with unpredictable people or situations, and are high-pressure, my symptoms are often triggered. This has taken a toll on my health, setting me back mentally, emotionally, and physically, often leaving me emotionally exhausted. The intensity of flashbacks can feel like I’m reliving trauma in real-time, leaving my body frozen and my mind disconnected. I want to work. But at this moment, I need stability and healing first.

<div>If you know me at all, you know that I am an independent strong self-made woman. Its invisible to most, but I walk this path with courage and perseverance overcoming the invisible pain and daily obstacles. Navigating a path that requires extraordinary strength, patience, and faith every single day.

</div>

<div>But even the <em>strongest</em> hearts need <em>support</em>, a shoulder to lean on…

</div>

<div>At the recommendation of my healthcare team, I’ll be attending a <em>residential inpatient program</em> that specializes in trauma recovery. I’ll be required to step away from work and my daily responsibilities to commit to this healing process. However, this does come with financial challenges, between treatment costs, insurance gaps, and being temporarily out of employment.
