<div>Nicole Pierro is a devoted elementary school teacher, a loving wife, and the mother of five wonderful children. She has always been a source of kindness and strength in her community, touching the lives of her students and friends with her faith and compassion. Now, Nicole is facing one of the toughest battles of her life—she has been diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer that has spread to her lymph nodes. Right before Christmas, Nicole will undergo an extensive surgery, and while her prognosis is good, her recovery will require her to be out of work for a few months. Unfortunately, Nicole does not have short-term disability, which means she will go without pay during this critical time.
