<div>My name is Darren, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my amazing wife, Nicola, and our newborn son, Jake.

<div>Earlier this year, while pregnant with Jake, Nicola became suddenly and seriously unwell. What we thought would be a simple health issue turned out to be something much more serious — she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Bowel Cancer.

<div>Since then, Nicola has been through major surgeries, intensive treatments and extensive procedures all while showing extraordinary courage as a new mother. She’s been fighting this illness with strength and determination, even as she faced complications and long hospital stays. Despite everything, she continues to amaze everyone around her with her resilience and love for our little boy.

<div>Jake arrived much earlier than expected and has spent his first months in hospital, growing stronger each day. We couldn’t be prouder of him — or of Nicola, whose bravery and positivity continue to inspire everyone who knows her.

<div>The past few months have completely changed our lives. Both of us have been out of work since the summer, and between living between hospitals, travel costs, food, accommodation, and keeping our home running, our savings have been wiped out.
</div>

<div>We now need to make some important changes at home to help Nicola recover and to prepare for when she and Jake are finally home together — including setting up a comfortable space downstairs and making adaptations for her care.
</div>
