On June 28, 2025, my boyfriend Nicholas was in a devastating motorcycle accident that left him with a shattered talus bone, a dislocated ankle, and severe road rash covering much of his body. Since the accident, Nicholas has been in the hospital undergoing multiple surgeries, and his recovery will be a long and difficult journey. Doctors expect it will take years to fully repair his foot and ankle, and he will need extensive physical therapy to learn to use his ankle again. During this time, Nicholas won’t be able to work for at least six months, and I can only work part time while I finish school. He was in between jobs and only doing side-work when this accident happened, so he has no health insurance This has put a huge strain on our ability to cover daily living expenses and the ongoing costs of his physical therapy.

Nicholas is the most caring and kind person I know. He would give you the shirt off his back without a second thought, and there’s just something about him that draws people in. He lights up every room he enters, and his love for cars, motorcycles, and fishing is matched only by his love for spending time with friends and meeting new people.
