Hey there!
I’m Nicholas Ezra Walters , a proud partner and volunteer with EmpowerThroughPlay—a health-based nonprofit that collects new and gently used sneakers, cleats, and sports equipment to benefit children in refugee camps, war-torn countries, and impoverished regions around the world. I’m excited to share that I’ll be attending our next mission trip to the Dominican Republic in November 2025!
It means so much to be able to give back and be part of this movement. I know we have the potential to make a lasting impact.
We’ve already begun collecting sneakers and cleats, and now we need your support to get them to the Dominican Republic! The more we raise, the more young lives we can brighten.
EmpowerThroughPlay’s programs focus on healing communities and encouraging positive social interaction through health and fitness, art, and photography workshops designed for youth and young adults. As a photographer professional, I’m an advocate for lifestyle changes and exercise to improve overall wellness. Physical activity not only benefits the body, but also boosts mental health, memory, focus, mood, and resilience. We believe exercise is medicine—it builds self-confidence, determination, and quality of life. Everyone deserves to look and feel their best, and the world would be a brighter place if we helped more people live happy, healthy lives.
Here’s a breakdown of how donations will be used:
• Collecting sneakers, cleats, and sports equipment
• Storing donated items
• Transporting donations (and myself) to the Dominican Republic
• Purchasing durable bags to carry and ship donations
• Covering extra airline baggage fees
• Providing donation boxes, flyers, and materials for sneaker drives at partnering establishments
• Website maintenance
• Supporting fundraising efforts
