<div>The first is for my son, <strong>Nicholas Mangum, to get a liver transplant</strong>. He has insurance, but the costs of lodging, meals, and copays for the transplant and then a 30-day stay near the hospital will add up quickly. We must have an additional $2500 for the month's stay and copay has been estimated at $15,000. This is quit remarkable since the bills so far and the transplant with follow-up will total around $500,000. (I know, right!)

<div>Update to the Journey: Nick has completed all initial tests and requirements, which took 4 days of meetings and visits at Duke Medical Center. He has been approved for the pre-list. Nick has an appointment in January for a final review and update.

<div>Update:  Nick is finalized for listing!  Insurance has approved the procedure!  We travel back to Duke for final updated tests and a scan to measure the area of his liver (so that the new one will fit).  It is getting to close!  Listing should take place just after the visits May 7-9.  We will keep you updated!
