Hey, I'm Clay Hays, and this young couple is Scotty and Kelsea Short. Scotty works with me, and I love the kid, so he's like family. The good news? Kelsea is pregnant with their 1st child. The bad news? Well, they're basically gonna go broke just trying to bring their little bundle of joy, Richard Dean Short, into the world. It seems, unlike most teachers' benefits I've ever heard of, the place where Kelsea teaches doesn't have maternity leave. Nope! You get your 12 sick days, and then you're on your own with unpaid leave. That's the "broke" I mentioned earlier. They can't do it on Scotty's salary alone, and without her salary for a couple months, they'd likely lose the apartment they live in and maybe even a vehicle if they can't make the payments. You should not have to become homeless because you had a freakin' baby!

In summation, I believe every mother should have at least a couple of months with her newborn before she has to go back to work. So that's why I'm here, to try and drum up some money to carry them through and help some with the medical bills. Because I remember the days of young and broke! These nice young people need a break. Anything is appreciated, and I will start it off with a contribution myself. They need it by late August when little "RD" is set to appear. I thank you for your consideration.
