Support Neomi’s Missionary Journey

Hello friends, family, and others. If you’re willing to take a moment to read why I am fundraising and to hear a little of my story, please feel free :)

If you don’t already know me personally, let me introduce myself. My name is Neomi Ascencio. I am 21 years old and currently embarking on a new chapter of my life!

I have recently come upon an opportunity to serve as a missionary to university & high school campuses with an organization called Circuit Riders YWAM (Youth With A Mission). I will be attending their 6 month Discipleship Training School starting mid-January. You may have some questions about what this organization is and what I will personally be doing. So let me tell you a bit about it!

Circuit Riders is a missions community that is reaching young people with the message of Jesus and empowering people as missional leaders! That being said, this is a bit of what my life will look like: For the first 3 months of my experience, I will be living in Huntington Beach with other young adults from all around the world! During this, I will be trained by leaders in ways that include classes, activities, worship etc. while learning and growing spiritually more and more every day. I will get to grow in my faith while also meeting others and build a strong community that encourages and pours into each other. Then in the middle of March & for the next 3 months, I will be sent out with a group of people to outreach and evangelize to high schoolers and university students internationally! These places will include South Africa, the Philippines, Europe, Central America, and East Africa. This is something I will be doing full-time.

Now to tell you a little bit about WHY I am doing this and my journey that has gotten me here today. For the past 3 years of my walk with God, ever since I ended high school, I have struggled with a lot of loneliness because of my overall lack of in person community. Because of this, I have dealt with confusion, anger, tears, and doubtfulness about what on earth is the plan/purpose for my life and if I would ever find or achieve whatever that said thing was. I have had so many hopeless days and have had many times where I just thought that maybe there wasn’t a purpose for me and that I would never find the friendships that I desired. Then after years of it just being me and God and being in a waiting season where I have overcome multiple trials and learned to embrace whatever season I am in and what it truly means to be still and patient, God has led me towards an amazing opportunity to be a part of something that has been a long-time desire of mine but never really spoke of with a lot of people, which is: to be a missionary. I have always dreamed of becoming unapologetically bold and expressive of my faith and to grow in ways where I can tell people about my testimony and how Jesus changed my life and how it can change theirs too!

Throughout this new journey of mine, my life will transform in ways I can only imagine. I’ll acquire new skills and grow not just spiritually but also form friendships that will encourage me and that will last me a lifetime and cherish forever, which is what I have always longed for. I have never been so thrilled about an opportunity as I am about this. I cannot express how much this means to me and that I now get to be a part of something like this. I am excited to see where this new journey will take me and what I will be leaving with.

All that being said, these next 6 months I will not be in school or working since this will be taking up all of my time.
So I come here nervously but hopeful in asking others to help and be a part of this new journey!
I’m reaching out to friends/family and others like yourself to ask that if you feel called, led, or encouraged in any way to give/support my fundraising, I would be forever eternally grateful and appreciative of anything that you are willing to give! All of the donations that I receive would be directly funding my flights, groceries, gas, and any other necessities for the next 6 months.

I want to conclude with whether or not you are deciding to donate, I want to say a massive thank you to each person who has taken the time to listen to my story and I hope that you have a blessed day!
