Support Apollo's Urgent Medical Needs
Donation protected
On Sunday, May 25, I witnessed a heartbreaking scene on Highway 8. A dog named Apollo was in the road, and in a desperate attempt to save him, I tried to guide him to safety. Suddenly, a truck was barreling down the road, showing no signs of stopping. Despite my efforts to wave it down, the truck struck Apollo, resulting in a broken leg. It was devastating, yet I am incredibly grateful that Apollo's owners arrived just in time.
The truck involved was a black Chevy with something attached to its hitch; its driver had ample time to react but chose not to. Thankfully, Apollo is still alive, but he urgently needs emergency surgery. The vet has indicated that he may require either pins to stabilize his leg or, more likely, an amputation. Given the circumstances, it seems we are leaning toward amputation to ensure Apollo's best chance at recovery.
Apollo's owner is a single mother of two children, one of whom has special needs. The financial burden of Apollo's medical procedures and required medications is overwhelming for her right now. This is where we can step in and make a difference. Every little bit helps and can ease the financial strain she faces during this difficult time.
Please consider contributing to help cover the costs of Apollo’s surgery. Your kindness can significantly impact this family and give Apollo a second chance at life. Thank you for your support!
Apollo is currently at the Emergency vet in Sullivan
