Man dies in Stoney Trail Accident. A husband, a father, a brother, a good friend...on Tuesday, November 10th, 2020 at 7pm, winter conditions and a very icey Stoney Trail has claimed the life of one gentle soul. Heading home from work, Neil’s van skidded off the highway, into a steep embankment, and flipped into a muddy and frigid storm pond.
He was later rescued and rushed to the Foothills Hospital where he later succumbed to cardiac arrest. It was later found from autopsy results that Neil has suffered a heart attack while driving causing him to lose control of his vehicle.
Neil is the sole provider for his family. Survived by his wife Ruby a new comer to Canada and their kids Bea (8 yrs old) and Andrei (1 yr old). Ruby does not have any experience working in Canada as she has eversince looked after their children fulltime. Although she is determined to take on the great challenges ahead of raising and providing for their kids as single parent with no relatives here in Canada, she currently worries about their short term needs... the rent for this month, food for the next couple of days/weeks, sending her 8 yr old daughter to school while still being able to look after their 1 yr old son... furthermore, how and when to find work to be able to pay bills for the long term.
Neil was an immigrant from the Philippines and was so happy to have been able to bring his family over to join him last year. He had great hopes for the future of his family here in Canada. We are asking for all kind hearted people to help his bereaved wife get up on her feet in these trying times and in hopes of continuing to pursue Neil’s dreams of a stable future for their kids.
