<div>10/08-I just wanted to post an update and let everyone know how our big boy is doing. The surgery was today and successful but he has coded since hes been in recovery so we are still in the thick of it.
</div>
<div>He is the most stubborn little boy I've ever met and I know he will push through all of this, even if it is just to tell me and his dad how mad the breathing tube made him lol!
</div>

<div>My name is Samantha Taylor, and my family and I have really experienced the "when it rains, it pours" sentiment lately. We were asked by a few loved ones to create this fundraiser to receive some help.
</div>

<div>To summarize the last few months, <strong>our 5-year-old is going in for open-heart surgery</strong>, I have stage two multiple myeloma that I'm currently undergoing treatment for, and I'm also 17 weeks pregnant. Additionally, my vehicle was totaled on Tuesday with both of my boys in the car.

<div>Our son Ricky is 5 years old and is the craziest, sweetest boy you'll ever meet. Unfortunately, Ricky was born with a cardiac disease called Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF). TOF is a critical congenital heart defect that occurs when a baby's heart doesn't develop properly during pregnancy. It's characterized by four heart and blood vessel defects.

<div>Ricky has had to go through 19 surgeries in his short life, and we are preparing for his second open-heart surgery on October 3rd. Best case scenario, he will be out of the hospital after two to three weeks and will be out of school for 8-10 weeks.

<div>I'm my son's paid caregiver, and it has worked tremendously for us while I've been undergoing prevention chemotherapy. Unfortunately, we've found out recently that I will not be paid while Ricky is in the hospital, and our family very much relies on my income as well as my husband's.
</div>

</div>
<div>My husband works so hard to provide for our family, and normally it's more than enough. Unfortunately, right now with my car being totaled and our insurance fighting us on covering a rental, we are spending an arm and a leg on rental cars so we can get to our medical appointments.
</div>

</div>
<div>With our son's medical bills, a totaled car, and no pay for me coming in, we unfortunately are in a situation where we have to ask for help, regardless of how embarrassing it is.
</div>
