Help Nathan walk again

Donation protected
Nathan’s family has run out of options and needs help in purchasing and installing a
walking harness system in their home. Nathan’s family is the LeAndos Restaurant that
was recently nominated by People Magazine (and aired on Fox 2 News) as the best
breakfast place in Michigan. They give back daily with the love and care they put in their
food and service to the community. This is a perfect time for us to show our appreciation
and give back to them!

“How can you find out if it’s a miracle, if you don’t try!”
Nathan Williams, now age 24, was involved in a horrific four-wheeling accident on June
11, 2017, the day this family’s lives changed forever. Nathan underwent a bilateral
craniotomy. After five weeks of showing no real progress, the hospital attempted an
intervention to “pull the plug” stating that if Nathan survived he would be a vegetable
and he would never be “Nathan” again. Nathan’s mother of four children never even
thought for a second about giving up. She told doctors “How can you find out if it’s a
miracle, if you don’t try.” Almost a week and a half later, Nathan started moving his
hands and legs shocking the doctors. Because of the type of insurance the family had,
the hospital ultimately left the family with one option and that was to send Nathan to a
nursing home. The family fought the hospital for assistance in helping Nathan recover
and he was ultimately sent to a specialty hospital. After being there for about a month,
and enduring numerous infections due to lack of care and progress in his condition,
Nathan’s family won their fight to get him removed from the facility and brought home.
With that move, came minimal supplies and services through insurance and because of
his condition, he did not qualify for rehabilitation. Nathan’s mom, three sisters and his
aunt turned into caregivers, nurses and physical therapists. They were left with no option
but to purchase equipment, that you would typically find in a rehabilitation center, which
ultimately caused them financial distress. With their persistence and keeping with the
statement “How can you find out if it’s a miracle, if you don’t try” today, Nathan is talking
normal, although at times confused, but is not walking. Nathan is pushing himself hard
every day and trying to walk. With no proper equipment and only with the assistance of
his family, he is not progressing. The harness is a necessity to continue to make the
miracle happen
