<div>Hi, My name is Morgan Winters. This GoFundMe account is to help raise funds for my mother, Charlotte Winters, and my son, Nathaniel Winters. They were both involved in an accident due to a downed powerline in a severe storm. Both my mother and my son were electrocuted and suffered severe burns and injuries. Both are in ICU in downtown Houston.

<div>Nathan is my 6-year-old son, 18% of his little body is covered by 2nd-degree burns including his face. Nathan has already undergone his first skin graft surgery. A skin graft is the transfer of healthy skin from one part of the body to cover the burn wounds: in his case, his first skin graft took healthy skin from his left thigh to graph his left forearm and right shin. Nathan may have to undergo a second skin graft for his left shin, taking healthy skin from his right thigh. This would leave both of his legs completely scarred once healed. Nathan is now stable but has a long healing journey ahead of him including multiple physical therapy appointments a week. Nathan will also have to have weekly outpatient care for his burns. That's not including him having to go through trauma therapy with a Psychiatrist and much more.

<div>My mother, Charlotte Winters is 56 years old and a supply manager at a nursing and hospice facility. Her body is over 50% burned, she has both 2nd and 3rd-degree burns. She is in critical condition in the Burn and Trauma Unit in Houston, Texas. Charlotte will need multiple MAJOR surgeries in the next few weeks. This upcoming Tuesday is her next surgery and Doctors will be able to decide if she will need multiple toes and possibly a finger amputated. Doctors are expecting her to be in the Burn Unit for 2 + months before she can be moved to a normal recovery floor which will also be for several months. Charlotte will need to continue with physical therapy and other treatment most likely at a rehab facility before she can return home.

<div>Not only will my mom be out of work for several months, I will also have to travel between Conroe, Texas to Downtown Houston to take care of my mother and son. The financial costs is unforeseen and will be hard on myself and my family who are helping with their care.
