Hello, my name is Namorrie Blount, and I am reaching out because I urgently need help covering an unexpected balance of $11,808 on my student portal at Morehouse College. I am a freshman from New Bern, NC, and I successfully completed my first semester, making the honor roll. As a first-generation, independent student, I was not prepared for this financial challenge, and it now threatens my ability to remain enrolled. Without assistance, I risk losing access to tuition, housing, and the opportunity to continue my education uninterrupted. On top of that, I was recently dropped from my classes, which has been extremely stressful and overwhelming. I am doing everything I can, communicating with financial aid, seeking emergency support, and exploring every option, but I cannot overcome this challenge alone. I never imagined I would be in this position, and asking for help is not easy, but this is my reality, and I refuse to let it stop me from pursuing my goals.
I am the youngest boy of nine children, and although my grandmother raised me, providing me with a foundation of faith, discipline, and values, I have been blessed to maintain an immaculate and loving relationship with my mother. My grandmother taught me resilience, patience, and the importance of serving others, while my mother has always reminded me to believe in myself, to dream big, and to never give up. Even though my path hasn’t been easy, the love and guidance from both of them have shaped me into the person I am today. Their sacrifices, encouragement, and faith in me inspire me to push forward, even when life feels overwhelming.
Being at Morehouse College represents hope, a generational breakthrough, and an opportunity to grow as a leader while giving back to my community. I have worked tirelessly to earn scholarships, maintain good academic standing, and stay involved on campus, but this unexpected financial challenge threatens everything I’ve worked for. I have never asked for help like this before, but I know that with support, I can overcome this obstacle and continue to pursue the life I’ve worked so hard for.
Your support, whether through donations, prayers, or sharing this fundraiser, would go directly toward helping me remain enrolled and continue my studies. Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a meaningful difference and brings me closer to fulfilling the purpose God has placed on my life. I am deeply grateful for your kindness, generosity, and belief in me.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story, for standing with me in this moment, and for helping me continue chasing my goals. Your support means more than I could ever express, and I promise to honor it by working harder, giving back, and making the most of this opportunity.
