As some of you may know, this past March I received the acceptance letter of my dreams. After a rigorous application and interview process...
I was accepted to the Graduate Painting Program at Yale School of Art!!!
My objective is to help fill in the fractures of diversity I have seen and felt within the visual art world and its educational system by becoming a professor. With a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design, receiving my MFA from Yale could make my dream a reality.
BUT I NEED YOUR HELP!
I am grateful to have received a financial need-based award from Yale that covers the majority of my tuition. Unfortunately, I am still not able to afford the costs of living and other student expenses which include rent, utilities, health insurance, food, art supplies and the remainder of my tuition.
Because Yale does not offer merit or financially-based scholarships for such costs, I have struggled to find outside funding since receiving my award letter late March. In the past month and a half I have been working as much as possible, saving as much as possible and taking on as many commissions as possible in order to raise the funds needed.
But I cannot fill the gap of $20,000 on my own by August!
I know what I'm asking for is not a small number, but ANY donation, large or small is beyond appreciated. Although I wish I had the time to make something special for everyone who is able to offer their support...
I will be making an original 8”x 8” work of art for all donations $200 and above!!!
To best prepare myself to become a professional artist and professor, there is no stronger program from which to earn my Master of Fine Arts Degree than Yale school of Art...help my dream become a reality!
