<div>On the night of January 27th, our lives turned upside down in an instant. At 11:59 PM, I walked into the kitchen and found my mom collapsed on the floor. She was barely conscious and had been violently ill. The shock was paralyzing, but I rushed to her side, calling her name over and over, but there was no response.

<div>My grandmother and I rushed her to the ER immediately, and I called my dad to meet us there. What started as a normal evening turned into a nightmare when the doctors told us the news: my mom had suffered a massive cerebral hemorrhage (brain aneurysm), it is a very severe stroke. There was a significant amount of bleeding in her brain, and her condition was critical. None of us slept. We waited in the hospital waiting room until 7:00 AM while surgeons performed an emergency craniotomy to relieve the pressure on her brain. The following day, they had to perform another procedure to block one of the ruptured vessels to stop the bleeding. While she survived the initial surgeries, we are still in the very early stages of a long and uncertain battle. She remains in the ICU, and the doctors have told us that everything right now is unknown and there’s a chance for her to stay on that bed forever. We do not yet know how long her recovery will take, the extent of the psychological or neurological impact, or when she will be able to come home.

<div>My mom is everything. She is the core of our household, She is a role model who leads with love and kindness. She is the person who brings everyone together, often through the wonderful food she cooks for people, selling them at a really cheap price. She is also a woman of deep faith. A devout Catholic, she is an active participant in our church community, attending services and praying faithfully. She has always been the one offering support to others, and now, she is the one who desperately needs it.

<div><strong>Our Financial Situation:</strong> As an 18 year old student, I am doing everything I can, but the financial reality of this tragedy is overwhelming and even with my additional income working a part time job. With my mom in the ICU, our family has instantly lost half of our household income. Despite this, our fixed costs remain the same: we still have monthly rent, car payments, and daily family expenses that we cannot fully cover without her income. On top of this, we are facing a mountain of future medical bills. We know that even in the best case scenario, rehabilitation will be a long, expensive journey.

<div>我和奶奶立即将她送往急诊室，同时打电话让父亲赶来会合。原本平凡的夜晚在医生告知病情时化作噩梦，母亲突发大面积脑出血（脑动脉瘤破裂），属于非常严重的中风。脑内大量出血，病情危急。我们彻夜未眠，在医院候诊室守候至清晨七点，眼睁睁看着神经医生实施紧急开颅手术以减轻颅内压。次日又进行二次手术，封堵破裂血管止血。虽然她挺过了最初的手术，但这场漫长而充满未知的抗争才刚刚开始。她仍处于重症监护室，医生告知我们当前一切皆不可知，她可能永远躺在病床上。我们尚不清楚康复需要多久，心理或神经系统受损程度如何，以及何时才能出院。

<div>她是家庭的核心，以爱与仁慈引领众人的榜样。她常通过烹制美味佳肴将家人朋友凝聚在一起，并以极低廉的价格分享给亲友。她亦是虔诚的信徒，作为天主教徒积极参与教会社区活动，坚持参加礼拜与祈祷。她始终是给予他人支持的人，而如今，她自己却急需帮助。
