On 6th April, I'll be running my first marathon - the Brighton Marathon - to raise funds for DanceEast, a brilliant charity that's close to my heart.
DanceEast is one of the UK's leading dance organisations and a registered charity that brings the life-enhancing power of dance to thousands every year. They work with a wide range of people, offering creative and inclusive opportunities to those who might not otherwise have access, including:
- People living with Parkinson's, through specialist dance classes that improve movement, mood and well-being
- Older adults, with regular gentle movement classes to support mobility, confidence, and community
- Children and young people, offering inspiring classes and performance opportunities
- And talented young dancers through their Centre for Advanced Training (CAT) program
The CAT program has been especially important to our family. My three daughters, Esme, Josie and Chloe are all on the program, and I've seen how its helped them grow - not just as dancers, but as confident, resilient young people. The training, support, and friendships they've gained through DanceEast have been truly life-changing.
As DanceEast is a charity, they rely on funding and donations to continue this vital work. That's why I'm putting on my trainers and taking on 26.2 miles - for the first time ever!
