Last night, my family’s world was turned upside down when my mother, younger sister, and stepdad were involved in a devastating head-on collision. The impact was so severe that all of the airbags deployed and their truck was completely totaled. My mother was pinned inside the vehicle and had to be cut out by EMS and firefighters using the jaws of life. My sister and stepdad were rushed to the hospital by ambulance with multiple injuries, while my mother was life-flighted to Memorial Hermann hospital in the medical center.

 My sister was discharged with a broken arm, a broken wrist, and several fractured ribs. My stepdad underwent surgery this morning for multiple rib fractures and is currently under observation in the hospital. My mother is in the shock trauma ICU, facing a long road to recovery with a fractured neck, broken legs and ankles, multiple rib fractures, and countless scrapes and bruises. With these serious injuries, none of them will be able to work or care for themselves for the foreseeable future, and the emotional and financial toll is overwhelming.

 Funds raised will go directly toward covering their medical bills, rehabilitation, and essential living expenses while they recover. Any support would mean a great deal to my family and help me get the adequate care that they may need in the future.
