My 17-year-old daughter has faced unimaginable challenges since birth. She was diagnosed with sickle cell SS and avascular necrosis, which has caused her to endure countless hospitalizations—over 300 in her young life. Most recently, she underwent a major hip replacement surgery due to bone loss in her right hip, a direct result of her lifelong battle with sickle cell. Even during her recovery, she has faced a pain crisis, and it breaks my heart to see her suffer. As her mother, I have done everything I can to support her, while also managing my own health struggles with sickle cell and diabetes. Our family has faced these hardships together, but it has not been easy, especially as I try to keep her spirits up and remind her that things will get better.

 Right now, we are in urgent need of financial support to help with the medical devices and equipment she needs at home—things like a wheelchair, shower chair, step stool, commode chair, and reacher. These are essential for her recovery, but due to delays with county assistance, I have to purchase them out of pocket. We also need to buy healthier foods to support her healing, but we do not receive food assistance, and I am on a fixed income. Every bit of help will make this process easier and allow her to focus on physical therapy and regaining her independence. Your support will help us provide the care and comfort she deserves during this difficult time.
