We started this GoFundMe to help my dad, Curtis Hill Sr., after the recent loss of his wife—my mom—on February 7. She was his rock, his best friend, and the person who kept everything together. Adjusting to life without her has been incredibly difficult, both emotionally and financially.

The biggest challenges he’s facing right now is the cost of keeping his home due to losing the financial assistance that my mom received. His roof is in poor condition, which has caused his insurance rates to skyrocket—making his mortgage payments more than he can afford on his own. If we can raise enough to cover the cost of materials, his brother has offered to donate his time and labor to replace the roof for free before the end of March. This would significantly lower his insurance costs and allow him to stay in the home he shared with my mom.

This fundraiser is about helping him through this transition and making sure he has the stability he needs in this next chapter of his life.
