My brother had a cat for about 15 years. My brother is a single guy in his late '50s. He's a hardworking, self employed business owner and has been for years, but thanks to the economy, business is slow. Anyhow, last year his cat passed away, leaving him more alone than he ever has been. A couple of months went by, and this weary, roughly 13-year-old, abandoned neighborhood cat started roosting on his doorstep and quickly warmed his way into my brother's heart. It was wonderful that they found each other and my brother took him in, got him vaccinated, gave him a home and named him Pancho. Fast forward to yesterday, Pancho met my brother when he arrived home from work in obvious distress, which led to him taking Pancho to the emergency vet. They did an emergency procedure saying that he had a urethral blockage / infection and they have been treating him ever since. We are hoping Pancho will come home to him tomorrow but that has yet to be determined. The bottom line is, so far the vet bill has been over $3,000. and he is not out of treatment yet and interest rates on credit cards are very high. So I am asking for help from any animal-loving Samaritan or group that may have disposable funds available to help poor Pancho and my big-hearted brother, who could have just told them to put the cat to sleep, but did not. Like me, my brother is alone and doesn't have anyone to help him, physically or financially. Those of you that live alone, understand. We don't even have any health insurance for ourselves. And my brother, being proud and barely self-sufficient, would never ask for any help on his own, which is why I'm doing it for him. I'm happy to answer any questions, and fill in any information or your curiosity! Thank you for your time and attention. God Bless!
