<div>On June 25, 2026, our cousin Mouad was violently attacked by a pitbull. The attack caused extremely severe injuries to his face and arm and nearly cost him his cheek, lip, ear, and eye.

<div>Anyone who knows Mouad will tell you the same thing: he is someone you can always count on. He is generous, kind-hearted, and always willing to help others. He is the type of person who shows up without hesitation when someone close to him needs support and who consistently puts others before himself.

<div>What was supposed to be one of the happiest moments of his life turned into a nightmare. Just days after graduating from the University of Ottawa, he was attacked by a dog while working his shift.

<div>We are endlessly grateful that he is still alive, but his road to recovery will be long. Mouad will need multiple reconstructive and cosmetic surgeries, along with extensive medical and psychological follow-up care. This fundraiser was created to help him access the best possible treatments without financial concerns becoming an obstacle to his physical and emotional recovery.

<div>We would also like to emphasize that Mouad has always been fortunate to be surrounded by exceptional parents. His father, and his mother — may Allah have mercy on her — have always supported him with unwavering love, presence, and dedication, both emotionally and financially. This fundraiser is not intended to replace that commitment; rather, it is simply additional support to give him every possible chance to rebuild his life under the best conditions.

C’est le genre de personne qui répond présent sans hésiter lorsqu’un proche a besoin de lui, et qui fait toujours passer les autres avant lui.

<div>Ce qui devait être l’un des plus beaux moments de sa vie s’est transformé en cauchemar. Quelques jours après l’obtention de son diplôme de l'Université d'Ottawa, il se fait attaqué par un chien en plein quart de travail.

<div>Nous sommes infiniment reconnaissants qu’il soit encore en vie, mais son chemin vers la guérison sera long. Mouad devra subir de nombreuses interventions de chirurgie reconstructive et esthétique, ainsi qu’un suivi médical et psychologique important. Cette campagne a été créée afin de lui permettre d’accéder aux meilleurs traitements possibles, sans que les considérations financières ne soient un obstacle à sa reconstruction physique et psychologique.

<div>Nous tenons également à souligner que Mouad a toujours eu la chance d’être entouré de parents exceptionnels. Son père, ainsi que sa maman — qu’Allah lui fasse miséricorde — l’ont toujours soutenu avec un amour, une présence et un dévouement sans faille, aussi bien moralement que financièrement. Cette cagnotte ne remplace en rien cet engagement : elle représente simplement un soutien supplémentaire afin de lui offrir toutes les chances de se reconstruire dans les meilleures conditions.
