E, A, and their three children arrived in the U.S. over five years ago, less than two months after A had given birth. They came here, like many of us and the generations before us, for more opportunity. E and A created a beautiful life and home in Maryland, even welcoming a fourth daughter. But that home was fractured in July, when, on his way to work, E was taken by ICE and subsequently deported back to Guatemala.
