Support Monique's fight to Keep her kids safe

Dear Friends and community. 

I am asking for some support right now in order to get through a hard time.   Since 2019 I have been fighting to keep my family afloat.  In December, 2019 I took  a financial hit with having to pay a lawyer and go to court to secure custody of my 2 children.  At that time I was already struggling to make things work after moving out of an unsafe living situation and trying to pay my way through school.  Despite all that I made it through court and won custody of my kids. 

However..the financial ramifications lingered.  Going to court put me thousands of dollars in dept on top of having to feed my kids, pay my rent and  find funds for tuition.  Now in 2020 with COVID-19 I am facing new challenges, with being on OW and facing the possibility that I will have to go to court again.  Since the beginning of COVID-19 it has been obvious to me that the access agreement I have is unsafe for my children.  Each week I am expected to hand my children over to someone who refuses to provide medication for our daughter who has a respiratory issue and who ignores guidelines for social distancing.  Because of the severe nature of my daughters' respiratory issues, this has caused me unmanageable stress and anxiety.  I am now faced with the potential of being penalized if I don't follow my current access agreement, or having to go back to court.  

Over the past year I have exhausted all of my resources and frankly - my energy.  I know that my kids Black lives matter and that they deserve to be with me in an environment where they are safe.  I don't often ask for this kind of support - as I am a very private person.  However, I am asking for assistance in any way you can help with this situation.  As I would like to give something back to the community who is supporting me - I will be working with my sister to sew masks for each person who contributes to this campaign.  With much love!
