Help Support Monica & Kid's

Donation protected
Monica, my dear friend of almost 30 years, needs your help. Last month her husband died of cancer. He was a quiet, gentle man with a deep dedication to his Native American ancestry. They have two little kids: a 9-year-old daughter and a 7-year-old son.  Monica has been a stay-at-home mom, homeschooling both of her kids since their daughter was born. She is an incredible mother - giving them a foundation rich in cultural appreciation of their heritage and fostering a love and responsibility for the land that they were raised on.

Her husband's battle with cancer was a long and heroic one that began over 13 years ago as a slow-growing, localized cancer of the maxillary sinus. Once they learned that the cancer had metastasized, it progressed much faster than anyone expected. At the same time that he began systemic treatment of the disease, they were forced to move out of their home and have been living in their small RV without a oven or reliable refrigerator on the Central Coast of CA.  Since the passing of their father, the kids have started traditional schooling and Monica is now transitioning from a stay-at-home mom to the sole financial provider of their family. They are also tasked with managing the stressors of living expenses, car loan payments, and credit card debt that had built up while her husband was too sick to work.

Monica is an incredibly strong person. I cannot imagine enduring all that she has been through in the last year and still finding the stamina and courage to keep going and remain commited to bringing joy into her childrens' lives. The family had to let go of many of the things that brought them so much joy - the ownership of their two beautiful Labradors, dance and karate classes and a comfortable home.

Their undying joy and genuine love of life and those around them is going to carry them forward; I want nothing more than to see this beautiful family thrive. I am asking for your financial help to lighten these burdens on Monica so she and her kids can grieve and move forward. Lets come together to give her a break and shine light into a very dark situation.

I truly respect the work that you put into earning your money. If you can donate, we will be using the funds to pay off their debt, catch up on car payments, and save up enough to rent a little apartment for this wonderful family.
