My name is Michael Alcala, 26, and my boy’s name is Milo, 8. On 02/16/25, hours before I’m writing this, Milo walked into my room and looked at me as I was laying in bed. To my horror, I saw Milo’s eye bulging out of its socket, bloodied and swollen. He looked up at me, no yelping or whining, just silently pleading for help. I rushed him to the nearest pet hospital where they gave him pain medication and diagnosed the extent of his injuries. The doctor determined an Enucleation was necessary.

We fear he had gotten into a fight with our next door neighbor’s dog and this was the injury he sustained. We have no issues with our neighbor. It just feels like very bad luck. The reason I felt the need to make an GoFundMe is because Milo is really my Grandmas baby. I live with my Grandma, 79, and have been helping take care of her and the house. We have plumbing issues at this moment and the cost of Milo’s medical care is very overwhelming as it is just my grandmother, my mother, and myself. My mother, 55, doesn’t work due to mental illness and my grandma is on fixed income. I hope this finds the right people and the algorithm blesses me.
