<div>On September 22nd, Mike’s life changed dramatically. The usually healthy husband, father, and Army Veteran went to the emergency room after experiencing stroke-like symptoms. There he was diagnosed with a Colloid Cyst in his brain. He and his family were told that it needed to be removed, but the surgery would be a minimally invasive microscopic procedure, and surgery would take place later that week. Unfortunately, the scope of the surgery ended up being more than expected and that Friday after surgery, he didn’t wake up from sedation. They were told this was not normal or expected, but it can sometimes happen.

<div>While there have been small moments of response, as of October 4th, Mike is still fighting to wake up. The length of his ongoing stay in the hospital is unknown. His progress is not coming as quickly as expected or hoped for, but he is surrounded by the love and support of his family. We have faith that he will continue to fight this and be back to his normal self.

<div>This, of course, was extremely unexpected for him and his family. His wife, Selena, had to take an unpaid medical leave of absence at work due to his critical condition. The road ahead is uncertain, and medical bills will be mounting. Aside from this, Selena and the kids will have significantly less income for the expenses of daily life. <strong>Our goal is to assist with the financial burden so that Selena can focus on caring for Mike, herself, and their young children, and Mike can continue healing. All funds will be dispersed directly to the Colombe family.</strong>
