Hello, my name is Miguel Cruz Sanchez. I'm 31 years old and I have End Stage Renal Disease. I've been on dialysis for 15 years, praying every day for a kidney. I recently got on the transplant list. I was at a 98% risk of rejecting the kidney, but since I was told that my antigens were so high, I was giving my hopes up.

But on September 9, 2025, I received a call at 11:45 PM saying that they have a possible match for me. We got to the hospital as fast as we could. They drew more labs to do the cross-match. We waited for 7 long hours for the results to come back. We were giving our hopes up because there were 2 people in front of me on the transplant list, but I guess my history of being on dialysis for so long and running out of dialysis access put me as a good candidate. At 12:15 PM, I was told that I was going to receive the kidney. I was surprised and excited. Finally, the time came and I was in the operating room. I got to see the new kidney. The doctor said it was a good and healthy kidney. After 4 hours, I finally got my new kidney and it was working perfectly.
