Help Us Protect Migrants’ Rights in the UK
Support & Advocacy Programme

We are raising funds to support Human Rights Solidarity, a UK-based, migrant-led human rights organisation, to deliver a nationwide migrant rights support and advocacy programme throughout 2026.

This campaign aims to raise £19,999, which will directly fund practical support, legal preparedness, and advocacy for migrant communities across England who are facing growing uncertainty due to sudden and proposed changes to UK settlement and citizenship rules.

Why This Matters
Thousands of migrants across the UK believed they were close to securing permanent status after years of working, paying taxes, and building their lives here. However, recent and emerging settlement policies are now threatening to:
• Extend settlement timelines significantly
• Introduce stricter “good character”, language, income, and contribution requirements
• Apply new rules retrospectively to people who have already spent years in the system

Many of those affected work long hours in low-paid or insecure jobs, face language and digital barriers, and experience intense anxiety about their future. Without trusted, accessible support, even small administrative mistakes can delay—or completely derail—settlement and citizenship applications.

What This Project Will Do
With your support, Human Rights Solidarity will lead an UK-wide Migrant Rights Support & Advocacy Programme, working closely with community partners and Voices in Britain.

The programme will include:
1. Monitoring and Challenging Policy Changes
• Establishing a Migration Law Monitoring Group to track settlement and citizenship policy changes
• Producing briefings, evidence submissions, and reports for Parliament, the House of Lords, and the public
2. Direct Settlement & Rights Support
• Settlement Rights Support Clinics offering one-to-one guidance in accessible languages
• Practical guidance to help people understand rules, prepare documents, and avoid costly mistakes
• Publishing a Good Character Test Preparation Guide so individuals are not caught unprepared
• Running the VOICES Information Line via WhatsApp for trusted, timely updates
3. Advocacy and Parliamentary Engagement
• Coordinated letter-writing campaigns to MPs and Lords
• Parliamentary roundtables with migrant communities and decision-makers
• Evidence submissions to Home Affairs Committees and the House of Lords
• Supporting and amplifying petitions and public campaigns
4. Public Awareness and Media Work
• Regular online broadcasts, podcasts, blogs, and YouTube content
• Social media campaigns highlighting real-life impacts of policy changes
• Engagement with newspapers, television, and other media outlets
• Community events and public forums to ensure migrant voices are heard
5. Legal Preparedness
• Accessing professional legal advice to prepare for potential legal challenges
• Supporting evidence-gathering for strategic litigation where appropriate

• ESOL ve Life in the UK sınavı yönlendirmeleri, dijital destek ve topluluk güçlendirme çalışmaları

Siz Nasıl Destek Olabilirsiniz?
• Bağış yaparak
• Bağış yapamasanız bile bu kampanyayı paylaşarak
Birlikte korku ve belirsizliğin yerine bilgi, dayanışma ve umut koyabiliriz.

Desteğiniz için teşekkür ederiz.
