Mick Rodgers & Family Medical Fund

Mick Rodgers was in a mountain biking accident while on a family vacation on Saturday, July 22nd that caused a broken neck and back. There are fractures in the C4, T5 and T6 vertebrates and the doctors are telling him that he was very close to becoming a quadriplegic. There is a major strain in the spinal cord that will require a couple months of rehabilitation but for now he is very limited in the things he can perform physically. He is not allowed to do anything for himself at this point including opening doors, cooking, or lifting more than 10 pounds.

Mick is a registered nurse so there will be many limitations on what he can do and when he can go back to work. This is obviously a huge and unexpected financial burden on the family as he will be out of work for an undetermined amount of time. There were a lot of specialists involved that will be costly as well as many upcoming costs with rehabilitation and recovery.

He visited with the spinal surgeon in Laramie who has kept him on mandated restrictions for at least 2 weeks, but will reassess him at that point to determine a plan of action.

He is a father of 2 young children, and 2 adult step-children alongside his wife Cheryl who fought breast cancer a few years ago.

Proceeds from this fundraiser will go toward medical bills and supporting the family while Mick is out of work.
