Hi family, friends & perfect strangers,

I’m Michelle a 30 y/o recent breast cancer survivor and I am starting this go fund me primarily to save my cat KaiKai’s life and get his foot amputated if needed (quoted anywhere from 1,500-7000 depending on type of surgery). He was recently injured (possibly by the neighbors junk or ran over) and with me out of work I’m stuck in a terrible situation and unable to pay to save my cat’s life.

My financial hardship started a couple years ago when I got diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 28 years old. Since Jan 2023 I had 6+ surgeries (not counting biopsies and in office excisions) including a double mastectomy, 20 rounds of chemo, 25 rounds of radiation and 24+ months of hormone suppression (still on going and causes terrible side effects). Because of all the effects of cancer treatment I was out of work for almost 1.5 years ( working 0-10 hours a week during this time depending on my strength).

Most recently I had a reconstructive surgery to try remove scar tissue and replace what was taken from me. This was a 10hr surgery, 3/4 days in the ICU and 6-12 weeks of recovery. I am now out of work again and only receive a fraction of my pay (not even enough to cover monthly bills). Now I’m faced with the hard decision to spend 2000+ dollars on vet bills ($800 already spent) to surgically amputate or say goodbye to my 4 year old kitty.

Kaikai would be missed dearly if it comes down to having to put him down. All he cares about is cuddles and playing. I have had him since my ex brought him home from sand island beach park after he was crying out from a tree. He then proceeded to try and steal some bait to eat (tako/octopus) and didn’t leave his side. This was over 3 years ago… I named him KaiKai (Kai in Hawaiian means ocean and he was found by the ocean).

Until I am able to raise some funds I am keeping him as comfortable as possible with pain meds but all he wants to do is get out of the kennel and play.
