This project will help the registered non-profit, African Sisterhood, continue to achieve its goal to assist girls in Kenya broaden their opportunities by recognizing their needs as young women. This is essential to women in Kenya who live in places where young women do not have the products appropriate to accommodate their menstruation, and because of this, for about a week every month they are forced to stay locked inside while their uterus runs its cycle. This causes them to miss school, and ultimately have to drop out, which forces them into desperate situations, often ending up married into harems for old men. By giving them the chance to be treated with equal opportunities and not to be shunned for their bodies, they are given the opportunity to actually succeed, and to pursue and be active in their education.

50 kits will be created, with various necessities including seven reusable menstruation pads, two pairs of underwear, a dark-colored washcloth, a bar of soap, two 1-Gallon Ziplock bags, feminine and washable pad care instructions, and a hand-written supportive note. These will be packed in a reusable drawstring backpack which can be used to carry their school supplies. By donating you will be directly helping to fund the collection and creation of these articles. Any and all proceeds will be put to funding this project, and all excess funds will be given directly to African Sisterhood, to continue to support their vision.
