For the last seven years, we have been dedicated to promoting STEAM at Mesa View Elementary. As a STEAM school, we continue our FIRST Lego League teams, teaching students to innovate a solution to real-world problems and how to use Legos to code and build robots. Mesa View as a whole works very hard to include any student interested in this unique STEAM opportunity. As more students have joined Lego League at Mesa View Elementary and shared their experiences with their peers, we continue to see a growing number of interested students.
FIRST Lego League is divided into tiers of different age groups, and we currently have both Explore (grades 1-4) and Challenge (grades 4-8) teams at our school. Last year, Mesa View Elementary had the most teams throughout our district with 10 teams, including a community-based team with students from three different schools! Mesa View is a Title 1 school, and we take pride in ensuring that all interested students are allowed to participate in Lego League at no charge. We are a school with over 60% free and reduced lunch plans. We feel that it is important for all students to have access to this opportunity.
Your generous donations will be used to help provide team t-shirts and a sense of belonging to all participating students.
