<div>I’m Eric, a nursing student at Belmont Abbey College with a heart for service and a calling rooted in faith. I was raised in Wake Forest, North Carolina, and my path to nursing began after a spiritual turning point and a heartfelt realization that I was made to care for others. I was inspired by my emergency room nurse cousin and driven by a deep sense of compassion, and I was one of the first students selected for Mercy Ships’ Student Nursing Program, The Mercyship.

<div>This summer, I’ll travel to Madagascar to support patient care aboard a hospital ship and witness firsthand how healing goes beyond the physical. I hope to work in emergency medicine and eventually become a nurse practitioner to serve even more patients with skill, empathy, and purpose.
