<div>My name is Melissa, and I am facing a life-changing challenge due to Chiari malformation—a condition where brain tissue extends into the spinal canal because of a misshapen or smaller skull. This causes my brain to be pressed downward, leading to severe and frequent migraines. I experience around 22 migraines each month, many of which are so intense that I am unable to function. This has made it incredibly difficult to be present for my family and to keep up with my job. The pain and exhaustion are constant, and it has taken a toll on every aspect of my life.

<div> I am preparing for brain surgery to address this condition. The process is complicated by a goiter on my thyroid, so I am currently waiting for a thyroid ultrasound before my surgery date can be set. I will know more about the timing after my appointment on August 11th. The funds raised will help cover my medical bills and support me during my recovery, which could require up to six months away from work. Any support will make a meaningful difference as I navigate this difficult journey and focus on healing for myself and my loved ones.
