Hi, my name is Melanie. My choir group and I are going to be doing some caroling at the Comitis Family Shelter on December 20th. Along with this, I am hoping to raise enough funds to provide gift bags for the kids. The shelter can house up to 150 people and is the only family shelter in Aurora. My hope is to raise enough funds to provide gift bags containing a small stuffed animal, a coloring book and crayons, and a small goodie bag for the kiddos. If possible, I would like to give the adults a small gift as well.

Any funds left over, I hope to purchase snacks to share with the residents of the shelter and staff on the 20th. As a parent, meeting our children's basic needs is something a lot of us don't think about. Not having shelter and stability to provide your children is probably one of the most devastating situations to be in as a parent. My hope is to let the parents and kiddos know that they matter and that they are loved. And to hopefully bring a smile to their faces even in light of difficult times. Thank you for anything!
