This fundraiser is for Melanie and her 2-year-old daughter, Emily. On Friday, August 21st, Melanie’s husband, Erick, took his own life at the age of 43 after a long struggle with mental illness and depression. Erick was a good man who tried to be the best husband and father he could be. The most important thing in his life was taking care of his girls, and Emily was truly the light of his life. Melanie and Erick would have celebrated 13 years together next month, and this heartbreaking loss has left their family grieving while trying to find a way forward. Even in the middle of this pain, Melanie and the family are deeply grateful for the love and support that has already been shown during such a tragic time.

Melanie is a stay-at-home mom, and Erick owned his own pool cleaning company, so his passing has also created sudden financial uncertainty for Melanie and Emily. This fundraiser will help with living costs as they navigate what comes next and begin adjusting to life without Erick. Any contribution, no matter the size, would be a great help to this family during this incredibly difficult season. If donating is not possible, please consider sharing this fundraiser and keeping Melanie, Emily, and all who loved Erick in your thoughts as they face the days ahead.
