Support Mei to compete at Rock Star Energy Open Skateboard!

Hi Friends,

I hope this message finds you well. My name is Emiko, and I'm reaching out to share the inspiring story of my friend, Mei Ozeki, an 11-year-old street skateboarder from Gifu, Japan. Mei is an extraordinary young girl with an incredible dream: to compete in the Los Angeles Olympic Games 2028.

Mei's dedication and passion for skateboarding are truly awe-inspiring. Just last month, Mei visited Los Angeles for the first time and became the youngest girl skateboarder to successfully boardslide the iconic Hollywood High School 16-stair rail. This remarkable achievement has put Mei on the map as one of the most promising young skateboarders in the world.

Upon her return to Japan, I compiled videos of Mei's incredible skills and submitted them to the Rock Star Energy Open Video Contest. We are thrilled to announce that Mei has officially been invited to compete with professional skateboarders in Portland, Oregon, from August 22nd to 25th, 2024!

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Mei to gain exposure and experience and connect with potential sponsors who can support her journey toward the 2028 Olympics. However, Mei needs our help to make this dream a reality. The costs for flights from Gifu, Japan, to Portland, Oregon, hotel accommodations, food, transportation, and a translator/guardian are significant, and she currently does not have sponsors to cover these expenses.

We aim to raise $10,000 to support Mei's participation in the Rock Star Energy Open. Your generous contribution will help Mei compete in this prestigious event and bring her one step closer to her Olympic dream. Every dollar counts and will make a significant difference in Mei's journey.

Breakdown of the cost

$500 transportation and hotel accommodations from Gifu to Tokyo in Japan.

$2500 flights from Tokyo to LAX. (She is unaccompanied minor, so there is extra fee to flight by herself. )

$900 flight for two people from Burbank to Portland, Oregon

$1200 hotel accommodations for two people for 6 days.

$1200 food for two people for 8 days (have to eat out every meal since there is no kitchen)

$400 Fee for transportation in Portland and Los Angeles for 8 days such as Uber.

$3,000 for a translator / personal assistant for 8 days. Including the days Mei arrives in the US and leaves for Japan.

$300 international traveling insurance
