Support Megan’s fight against cancer!

Please join us in supporting Megan and Pyper in the next steps of her journey. About a year ago Megan started experiencing numbness in her lower lip. Through many trips to the dentist and oral surgeon they decided the next step would be an MRI. The MRI showed a mass in the area of the bone parallel to her ear. After many more tests the surgeons decided the best course of action would be to remove her mandible and scrape out all of the cancer that they could.

On January 4th 2021 Megan underwent her most serious surgery this far. They ended up removing the mandible and replacing the space with muscle, fat, and tissue. She is currently in the ICU at UC. She unfortunately had a few curve balls thrown at her right before surgery. She has a feeding tube, she had to have a tracheostomy, and her mouth is “banded” shut. She is in a lot of pain and waking up to her new normal. She will have facial paralysis for up to a year or more. She also had to have a craniotomy to remove the cancer that was growing towards her brain. Thankfully they were able to remove everything that they were anticipating. But unfortunately she has a very long road ahead of her filled with therapy, radiation, possible chemotherapy, and the list goes on. She is going to need constant care for the first 3-4 week out of the hospital.  

I’m asking on behalf of Megan to help get her through these rough months ahead. She is obviously not able to work or to qualify for unemployment since she is a server. All of the funds will be going to her everyday bills. This includes rent, car payment, insurance, utilities, and to cover all of Pyper’s needs.
